John “JB” Behrens is the founder of JBL Construction and the heart behind its family-driven legacy. With a Master of Education in Athletic Training and a natural gift for problem-solving, JB took a hands-on approach from the very beginning—learning the construction industry by surrounding himself with skilled tradespeople, engineers, and trusted mentors. His career began with a focus on medical and commercial construction, eventually expanding into high-end residential work as the company grew. Over the past two decades, JB has led with humility, courtesy, and a tireless work ethic, earning JBL a reputation for quality, integrity, and lasting relationships.

JB is a Certified Building Contractor and Certified General Contractor with a deep appreciation for Building Science. He believes that communication, job site cleanliness, and true craftsmanship are non-negotiable, and he instills those values into every member of the team. As a leader, JB is known for his genuine care for both clients and employees—offering generous benefits, recognizing great work, and ensuring that everyone feels supported. Though his son Andrew now leads day-to-day operations, JB continues to guide the company with a spirit of gratitude and purpose, proud of the legacy they’ve built and the future they’re shaping together.
