JBL Construction is a Florida-based general contractor serving homeowners and businesses throughout Northeast Florida. Our work is grounded in experience, precision, and a practical understanding of building science—allowing us to approach every project with both craftsmanship and technical care.
With a foundation in engineering expertise, we take a hands-on, in-house approach to construction. By keeping critical aspects of the process under our direct supervision—including drafting, structural engineering, framing, drywall, trim carpentry, and project management—we maintain a high level of quality, accountability, and communication from start to finish.
This level of involvement allows us to address challenges efficiently, uphold consistent standards, and provide our clients with clear visibility throughout the build.
Our History
Founded in 2002 by John “JB” Behrens, JBL Construction began as a family-owned company rooted in strong relationships, building science, and hands-on expertise. The firm’s early work focused on medical and commercial projects, where precision, compliance, and technical execution were essential. This foundation shaped JBL’s approach and set the standard for doing things right—from the inside out.
Today, JBL Construction is led by JB’s son, Andrew Behrens, a licensed general contractor and professional engineer. Under his leadership, the company continues to operate with a hands-on, in-house approach, maintaining direct oversight of drafting, engineering, framing, drywall, trim carpentry, and project management to ensure consistent quality, clear communication, and long-term performance.
